Action Analysis

Whew, I was worried the video wouldn't show up on the blog. Ah I still want to fix up some things on my action analysis, but the school is closed for a week, and I would rather finish it up on the same computers and such. I chose to cut away some of the story, to finish it and make it look more cohesive for submission, so I will have to add the rest when the labs open up again. So for now, here's the version I handed in at the end of the semester.

*EDIT*

Here's the updated version, with some minor fixes.

concept stuff for group film

Also, some concepts for my group film. These are only 2 of the characters in our film. And really doesn't do the story any justice. I will post more of our film as things unfold

Royal Winter Fair Drawings

Hey there! Here's some stuff I did while at the royal winter fair. Some done there, the better ones touched up at home.

Another Sketchbook piece

Doodles of naked people with broken bodies from my head. Just some fun stuff. I'm just buying time, til I can finally post a short animation I been working on half the summer. It's not done yet, and I want it to be at least feeling done before I post it anywhere. Soon, soon.

Here's something

I don't really like to show my sketches, mainly cuz they're really rough and out there, and the bulk of my sketchbooks are mostly studies and copies. Just me trying to learn. Plus, most people don't seem interested when looking through them either. But this blog has been neglected far too long, so I have to post something. These are 'people-sketching' (coined by a friend) from various places.

More stuff from school. I'm trying to get everything organised now, so that i won't have to fight a giant pile of paper when i need to make a portfolio. These are from a character design assignment; four character roles, in a theme. Mine was Victorian. These are just the ones I have already scanned. Will put the other designs once I scan them tommorrow in school.

Oh no its over again

Hi. So with the end of this week marks the end of my 2nd year in Sheridan. Too fast! Soon it'll be group film then final film time. The first video is the muzzle assignment which I also cleanuped for the cleanup assignment. Clean ups needed only be for 3 seconds of the animation, so I am considering finishing it over the summer. The dialougue is from Ella Enchanted, the scene on the river bank I think?

The other video is part of the huge layout assignment we had. Maybe I'll post in the painting for it as well, to add some variety to this blog.

Pushin it

Human sync assignment. I tried pushing the drawings, and tested out smearing for this assigment. I think some of them worked, some not so much. I'm feeling more satisfied with this one, mainly because I got the opportunity to concentrate on this for a good 3 days without other assignments bugging me down. I think I will revisit this one again in the summer, and add in the bully and additional stuff in front, which I originally wanted.

some sketches

Some random sketches. The first one I liked, and its done on a friend's sketchbook, so I asked for a copy to post it up here. The other is a random page of cat studies I was doing to get the hang of cats, and I was kinda surprise some of my classmate liked it. It's so rough and disproportioned haha, since this blog isn't getting much stuff I thought I'd post it up too.

It threw me a little off when alot of people I talked to said they prefer looking at sketchy stuff, I thought I was the only one. I grew up in an art culture in which alot of emphasis was on cleanliness and sleek designs, so I never bothered showing off my stuff. My approach had always been trying to capture life, thanks to all the animation books I been reading (The latest one being 'Drawn to Life'! go get it), so I think alot of my sketchy stuff is not very impressive to begin with. No cool factor to it. One of my teachers use to say, 'concentrate on structure! The line quality will come on its own.' Haha here's hoping.

storyboard leica

Storyboarding leica, boards were done and music added after, so i tried my best to find a suitable scratch track and timed the panels to it.

Omg its an update!
